Not Everyday Can Be "Your Day"

Today, we woke up with the plan to go hiking and have a picnic. We made sanwiches and got chips, crackers, and water together. We put things in the van and took off. When we got there we realized we had left the cooler with the sandwiches at home. We had drinks, gummies, and chips/crackers, but no sandwiches. Disappointed and hungry we went on our hike and had fun.

We went home and had a late lunch of sandwiches. Started cleaning and uncovering the grill to cook dinner for the missionaries. We waited to put the burgers on until 1/2 hour before they were to show up. Eliza set the table. Maren mixed the brownies. 10 minutes before they are scheduled to show up, Jon comes in the house and states that the grill isn't heating up because we are out of propane. We check for a broiling pan, but there is none. So, we pull out the frying pans and cook away. Grease spattered everywhere. The first three turned out fine. The last four were burned to a crisp. "Oh no" I forgot to make that salad Jon and I had talked about. I rummaged through the cupboards and found a single can of pork and beans and a couple different kinds of chips. The missionaries were kind and seemed grateful, but we were embarassed. Luckily the brownies turned out well.
IN OTHER NEWS: Eliza is doing well with her potty training. She still has accidents but is getting pretty good about remembering to go to the potty on her own. The reminder that comes often probably helps her not to forget she is wearing panties. Wahoo! She wears panties throughout the day. (If you look closely to the above picture you can see the tag from her underear sticking out the front. ...as long as she stays clean and dry. )

Henry's Blessing

Henry was blessed in church yesterday morning.

He was in a good mood before church, and did well up until church started. Then he started getting hungry. The pacifier kept him happy through the blessing. It was a beautiful blessing. We were grateful to have the Boones, Daleys, and the other Robbins families join us for this special occasion. Thanks for coming.

This is Henry in is blessing outfit. It's too bad the vest and pants didn't fit better. He's a cute boy, even so.

After church, we all gathered at Jon's sister and brother-in-law, Doug and Suzie Daley's, house for a potluck lunch and a game of Phase 10. All the kids had fun playing downstairs and the adults had fun playing upstairs.

GRADUATION FROM THE ACADAMY

Sunny and Henry were able to make it to Jon's graduation from the acadamy. We are ever so grateful for Theresa who volunteered to watch Maren and Eliza over night to make the trip easier. Maren and Eliza had so much fun with their cousins. Henry did pretty well on the long trip to, during the ceremony, and the long trip back. Jon spent Friday morning cleaning out his dorm.

GONE FISHIN'

Today we were invited out to the Stone's residence to fish and then eat them for lunch. They invited the whole Eastern Idaho Robbins' clan. We joined the Stone's, with their kids and grandbabies, and the grandparents. There were 29 people there. We had a lot of fun.

This is Vera (Daley), Claire Daley, Maren, Paige Daley, and Maddie Boone. Vera is so good with all the kids, and all the kids love her.

This is Michael watching Heidi and Theresa fish. Everyone got the chance to fish, but most were caught by Doug Daley, and Robbie, Theresa, and LeGrand Boone. Jon and Sunny each caught one. Sunny used this as an opprotunity to learn how to gut and fillet a fish. She prefers the gutting over the filleting. The fish were grilled. We had a fruit salad, a macaroni salad, cinnamon pickles, and dill green beans with the fish. It was a delicious feast. then we had bunt cakes for dessert. Yum. The kids had fun learning about stilts and playing on slide and swings. They also loved the apples falling off the apple tree.

We even got to take a quick trip in the canoe around the pond. Fun was had by all. Thank you, brother and sister Stone, so much for having us all out. We really had a great time.

Sunny and the girls are so glad that Jon is back. They look forward to him getting and being settled in his job.
