Happy New Year

Sweet Eliza Jane! Yesterday, while Jon was at work I decided to go over to the house, touch up some paint, and hang a few doors. I was in Henry's closet when I heard the girls yelling/crying downstairs. It sounded serious, so I went down stairs to find Eliza in the toy room with the door shut and crying. Maren, who was standing beside me, was saying something about Eliza taking a nap and the door was stuck. I tried the knob and found that it would turn but wouldn't unlatch. Eliza was scared. I got her calmed down by telling her we would get her out. I tried everything I could think of without damaging the door or knob. I called Jon to get more Ideas. I couldn't go through the window, the screws that held on the knob were inside with Eliza, and so were the hinges. I even tried pushing a piece of cardboard around the door in hopes that it would release the latch, but the cardboard would not bend . Jon decided that he could take off the rest of the day and headed over. At this time Eliza began crying again for her daddy. I got impatient and began hitting the handle with a hammer. Eventually, I did enough damage to get the door open. Shortly after Jon came in and Eliza wouldn't let him be. She clung to him for quite a while. I began thinking Maren's suggestion of hanging a curtain for the door in that room wasn't such a silly idea.
We had the opportunity this last weekend to spend it in Tooele with Michael and Heidi Robbins. They were preparing for and blessing their handsome little baby boy, Zachary Michael Robbins. We made it down to Tooele in time to watch a movie and fall asleep 1 1/2 hours before the new year. We visited Jon's buddy, Issac, and his family in Pleasant Grove on New Year's Day. It was great to see them, and it was fun to watch the kids play so well together. We traveled back home to Idaho Falls after the blessing and luncheon on Sunday.

Henry is getting SO big. He thinks he wants to crawl. He can get up on all fours and he has began to hop with his legs together. I think it is kind of funny. We took him for his 6 month check-up the other day and he weighed 16 pounds 7 ounces which is 27 percentile for his age group. He was 26 1/2" tall, which was 50th percentile. His head was 45.5 cm around, which was 89th percentile. So he looks heavy, but really is pretty light for his age. He can roll anywhere her wants to go, and loves cords or anything he can grab. He is one cute, happy boy!
